O S C I L L A T E
Oscillate “กวัดแกว่ง” is a light participatory installation that used the movement of light and shadow to depict the stories of local’s everyday life in Bang Rak neighbourhood. By focusing on viewer’s experience, this installation allows viewer to act as an active participant to complete the message.
To depict a scenario of this local’s everyday life, we used the effect of rotating light that shine on local utensils to indicate their life in a day. But at the same time, the movement of light and shadow also gives a sense of present and existence.
By considering the viewer’s experience, we saw the viewer not as a passive spectator but as active participant, engaging with installation in real time and space. We decided to use viewer and environment movement as a source of oscillating the pendant lamps.
